Developmental/structural editing comprehensively evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of your manuscript and examines the development of your story. Feedback is given in the form of a detailed editorial report – 3,000 words or more – and in-text comments within the manuscript.

A short story developmental edit functions exactly the same as a full developmental edit, only it is tailored to suit short stories.
Feedback is given in the form of a detailed editorial report – under 3,000 words – and in-text line edits within your manuscript where I will address issues on a scene-by-scene basis.

First Chapter Critique
A first chapter critique assesses the opening pages of your manuscript – whether it be fiction or creative non-fiction – to determine how effectively they hook the reader and and set up the story.
Feedback is given in the form of an editorial report – 2,000 words or under – and in-text line edits within your manuscript where I will address issues on a scene-by-scene basis.

Picture Book Developmental Editing
Picture book developmental editing functions exactly the same as a full developmental edit, only it is tailored to suit picture books. I am particularly interested in seeing how your story unfolds across 24, 32, or 40 pages, which are the industry standard lengths for picture books.
