I love to edit all genres of fiction! However, my specialisations primarily are speculative and fantasy fiction, children's literature, young adult fiction, mystery fiction, gothic fiction, and historical fiction.
DO YOU EDIT SHORT STORIES OR NOVELLAS?
Yes, I edit short stories and novellas of any length.
DO YOU EDIT POETRY, NON-FICTION, OR PROFESSIONAL DOCUMENTS?
No, I do not edit poetry, non-fiction, or professional documents.
DO YOU EDIT PICTURE BOOKS, GRAPHIC NOVELS, OR SCREENPLAYS?
No, I do not edit picture books, graphic novels, or screenplays as they are not genres I am intimately familiar with.
DO YOU ACCEPT EVERY MANUSCRIPT YOU RECEIVE?
No, I do not accept every manuscript I receive. If I receive a manuscript that I am not 100% passionate about, or if it falls into a genre/subgenre with which I am not intimately familiar, I will inform you that I am not the right editor for you.
DOES MY WORK HAVE TO BE FINISHED TO BEGIN THE EDITING PROCESS?
Yes, your work must be finished before we can begin the editing process. As a developmental editor, it is vital for me to see the complete arc of your story in order to provide the most effective and appropriate feedback.
HOW SHOULD I FORMAT MY WORK BEFORE SENDING IT TO YOU?
Please format your work in a Microsoft Word document with 1.5 line spacing, normal (2.5cm) margins, and in Times New Roman 12 point font. Please include your full name in the header of the document and page numbers in the footer.
When you contact me either for a free sample edit, a developmental edit, or a manuscript assessment, please include the genre, word count, a brief synopsis, and your creative vision for your work.
HOW LONG DOES THE EDITING PROCESS TAKE?
Editing time depends on the project's length and complexity, as well as the level of editing required. The turnaround also depends on the number of projects I already have scheduled.
When you contact me for a quote, I will provide an approximate editing timeframe (either in days or weeks) after reviewing the details of your project.
Deadlines and check-in dates will be agreed upon before any work commences.
I HAVE READ THROUGH YOUR SERVICES AND AM STILL UNSURE WHICH ONE I NEED. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Each manuscript is unique and will require a different level of editing.

WHAT LANGUAGES DO YOU EDIT IN?
I only edit in English.
WHAT SOFTWARE DO YOU USE FOR EDITING?
I use Microsoft Word, and all my edits are recorded using the track changes feature. If you are unsure how to use track changes, rest assured, it is very simple, and I can help you along the way.
IS AI USED IN THE EDITING OF MY WORK?
No, I do not use AI during my editing process, nor do I outsource any of my work.
WILL MY WORK BE SHARED PUBLICLY OR WITH ANYONE ELSE?
No, your work will never be shared publicly, and only I will see it. After the editorial contract has been fulfilled, I will keep a copy of your manuscript on my computer for 30 days before permanently deleting it as per my Disclaimer.

Absolutely! If there are any edits or suggestions that you're unsure about, please reach out to me for clarification. I am here to guide you through the (sometimes) tricky process of developmental editing until you are happy with your finished manuscript.
CAN I CONTACT YOU FOR FOLLOW-UP EDITS?
Yes, of course! If you have completed a round of developmental editing and would like your new work to be edited again, I am happy to do so. Actually, I encourage it! This is especially true if your manuscript required major changes in the beginning and your new manuscript is vastly different from your first draft.
Sometimes, it can take a few rounds of developmental editing until you, the author, are happy with your work and ready to take it to the next level.
To best support you along your writing journey, I offer follow-up edits at a discounted rate.
WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT TERMS?
After the official quote has been agreed on, I take a 50% deposit before commencing and the remaining 50% upon completion. This is in line with industry standards.
